Death Troopers

Been a long time coming. The Elysian Drop Troop was always a dream army of mine but being a Forgeworld exclusive army it was expensive to build. So 4 years ago I went about purchasing 2 Imperial Guard Cadian Battleforce. I built a test mini and they just didn't scream Drop Troop. Hero scale is ugly and so out of proportion. So I went about purchasing the 9 Valkyrie/Vendetta as advised by Alvin. Like the Sancronary Guards, I long for something different as I always do with my armies.

Scouring through the internet for used minis and bits. I decided to bite the bullet and go wild. Forgeworld Elysian Drop Troop was ordered and I was dreading painting skin if I do decide to paint them. So to avoid having to ever needed to paint skin I present to you the Death Troopers.

Game board to follow suit. i love the internet.

Superglue Advanced Formula!

Got my magic fix after work today and I present to you my assembled Guards Armoured Squadron. 2 HQ Shermans with an ARV, 2 Shermans and a Sherman Firefly. Huzzah!

What a sight!
Can you spot the HQ tank!

So fast, so easy and now I'm bored again cause they took less than an hour to get assembled. Mind you that's from box to what you see below.

On the 40K front, I've been selling off my IG army bit by bit to fund a FW army. Still undecided and hopefully by tomorrow I'll have more updates on that.

Till the next update. Keep on hobbying and roll some dice!

Update on Guards Armoured Squadron

Just a short update today. Basically cleaned, de-flashed, washed and partially assembled my Sherman tanks till the brush on my superglue dried up. Kinda frustrating when you're in the mood to hobby and something goes wrong. So tomorrow after work, to Bunnings I shall be going to stock up on superglue!

How I wish I was back in Malaysia where 7-11 was just around the corner and super glue is cheap as chips! But nonetheless today's progress was very encouraging and hopefully I can get the squad done by Thursday.

Maelstrom Games is currently re-stocking on FoW minis and I only hope that my order get's to me soon and by the looks of it, I might just have to take my time with this batch of tanks till reinforcements arrive in the mail.

It's funny how things end up. I used to game at the FoW manufacturing facility.
Moved to Adelaide and started FoW, buying the minis from a UK supplier when the game originates from NZ and is manufactured in Malaysia where I used to game. I never thought that I would ever start a FoW army.

Till the next posting. Cheerios!

Beginning of my Guards Armoured Squadron.

Well peeps it's been a long time since I updated my blog and what better way to revive it with a post on a new beginning. Seeing how the boys at Legio Malaysia are all having so much fun with Legio's Flames of War, Operation Market Garden campaign. I decided to jump in and start a FoW army.

It was daunting at first as I didn't have a clue on how to go about it, I got myself Earth & Steel as recommended by Khairul and Jeff then onto Hell's Highway. I must admit that I'm not a big war fan, but the miniatures and hobbying aspect of it was perfect for me. I love tanks, infantry and I needed an army that I could spend a couple of hours of my week with. Nothing too time consuming like cleaning mould lines and such. Just plain old out of the box cleaning and washing. Plus they take up so little space as compared to the dreaded Air Cavalry Imperial Guard army that I started over 2 years ago.

Ordered a bunch of stuff off Maelstrom and I'm patiently waiting for them to get here. As for now thanks to Military Hobbies, I've gotten my grubby hands on a Sherman Armoured Platoon, Sherman ARV and a GERMAN HQ objective (Only because it looked so much better as compared to the other HQ Objectives)

So hopefully in the days to come I'll have this blog up and going again. Would be nice to have updates on the IG Air Cavalry too but that's wishful thinking. Till the next update. Huzzah!

KINDRED II and biting off more than you can chew!

KINDRED II.

It's that time again and I'm glad I'll be able to make it back for Kindred II.
My old partner Dann has taken off with a wolf and my new partner in crime Kadir and I will be taking on the great generals at KINDRED II.

I had my best fun at Kindred last year and winning the People's Choice Award was the highlight of my hobbying 'career' and I'm truly thankful to those around me. However KII brings new challenges and generals to the fray. Great generals with great armies, cheesy ones to fluffy ones. Great converters and painters, ready to wow everyone with the stroke of their brushes and green stuffing skills. Oh yes, it will be great!

Me being a gaming noob, will need all the help I can get from my partner. Since I started this hobby I've only had about 8 games in total in 3 years. I'm not really into the gaming, much rather prefer to model and convert to my fickle hearts desire. But one thing that set's me apart from them, the ability to never finish and army. Oh yes folks, I do not have a single finished army. True that I have the minis to make the army, but they're all in dire need of painting... From my Death Guard cheese dual Daemon Prince to the Warrior brood of Hive Vo'rad. They're all in need of paint. I'm not going to start about how I'm not a good painter or anything, just that I never get around to painting them. With me moving to Adelaide, it's gotten worse. My paints and minis are in Malaysia and I'm here with my brushes and green stuff.

Maybe it's time to sell off the old army and settle with just one. But then again, that has never been a good excuse for any wargamer. With constant releases of updated armies, one can only wonder what goes on in a gamers mind! Getting back on track, I can't wait to get back to game and catch up with the Legio Malaysia and Hobby Forge boys. Till KII, happy hobbying and good night!

Anyways, below is the Kindred II Rulespack Hardcore in pdf. Enjoy
